How to Choose The Best Mobile Phone Plan

A few people have asked me recently what is the best mobile plan (and provider). The answer is it depends on your usage. There is a way, however, of finding out what plan is best for you, according to your call, date and text usage. You just enter your details and it gives you a price comparison on all the plans and networks, as well as the contract length etc. It’s really simple – here’s how….

What you will need
You will a fully itemised bill giving details of your usage. With most providers this is available online under ‘My Account’ section when you log into the website.

Then go to www.callcosts.ie and fill out the following information: (this is an independent website operated by Comreg)

Step 1 (basic information)

•    when you make most of your calls
•    how many minutes you use
•    what percentage of these minutes called are to other mobiles
•    how many text and/or picture messages you use

Step 2 (details information – this is optional fill it out, it will be worth it!)

•    across peak, off peak and weekend timeframes,
•    between landline and mobile networks
•    to voicemail
•    to preferred numbers

Step 3

Get the results and compare the various plans according to your usage and needs. Note that this doesn’t cover data (internet) usage, so you might want to have a look at what you use on your bill too and make incorporate it into your selection criteria.

If you just want to view all the price plans this is a good comparison site- http://www.compareireland.ie/c5-phones-s43-mobile-contract.html

Good luck- treat yourself with the money you save… :-) – Value Vera
